The Charleston Police Department will be conducting free vehicle inspections for minor equipment issues this Saturday, July 22 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The inspections will take place at the police fleet garage at 637 Dupont Road.
The Charleston Illumination Project is designed to improve police and community relationships. In a continuing effort to build a tighter relationship with the community the CPD will help educate motorist on the importance of maintaining their vehicle’s safety equipment.
The CPD with onsite mechanics will replace bulbs for headlights, taillights, turn signals, and license plates and fuses depending on the type of vehicle, they will also have meters to ensure legality of window tints. CPD ensures the public there will be No citations issued.
Partnering with the CPD are Parks Auto Parts, Pleasant Details and Tint, and Hay Tire Company.
