Mitchell Elementary caters to 361 students and 80% of those students walk to school. When it
rains, 289 of those students are affected by the weather. Majority of the students live on
Gadsden Green Projects and they take the school bus to Mitchell Elementary. However, when it
floods the bus cannot make it to that area. Making it twice as hard to walk when they do not
have the proper rain attire. You can make donations of rain coats, rain boots and
umbrella’s to help assist students as they travel to school during rainy days at the following locations.
